MOST PEOPLE KNOW WHAT ANTI-WRINKLES INJECTIONS ARE BUT WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF AND HOW DO THEY WORK?
WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF?
Botulinum toxin Type A is the active ingredient in anti-wrinkle injections. It works by temporarily relaxing the muscles which cause wrinkling and are used mainly on the upper face.
WHAT DO THEY WORK?
Botulinum toxin, after it is injected properly, goes to part of the muscle where there is a connection to the nerve. It essentially blocks this connection stopping the muscle working. The effect is temporary usually lasting 3-4 months. At which point the patient normally comes back to clinic for another treatment. Over time even the deepest of wrinkles can soften, making this a fantastic treatment for brightening and freshening the facial appearance.
Another added benefit is that the toxin effects the sweat glands. This outcome is realised particularly under the arms which can be a real problem especially in a professional environment – say goodbye to those embarrassing under arm patches.
WHERE ARE THEY USED?
However there are a variety of different uses which are listed below:
– Forehead lines
– Frown lines
– Crows Feet
– Gummy Smile
– Bunny lines
– ‘Lip flick’
– Smoker’s lines
– Downturn of the corner of the mouth
– Nefertiti Neck lift
– Calf Slimming
– Masseter muscle slimming
– Excessive sweating – forehead, hands, feet, underarms
THE NO TRACE FACE
The no trace face is Dr Nik’s mantra.
THE NO TRACE FACE: ‘undetectable’ anti-ageing treatments delivered by a doctor.
Look good without appearing puffy, fake or ‘over done.’
The beauty of non-surgical treatments is that if they are performed well, they give a fantastically natural result, leaving patients looking fresher, younger and less tired without any obvious traces of a doctor’s needle.
The aesthetic industry is often misrepresented by the overdone and puffy look.
You will not find this at NDSKIN.
Dr Nik is of the opinion that less is often more and ideally no one should know that you have had a treatment (Once any swelling has gone down of course!)
